At different times in my creative career, I’ve been an illustrator and a graphic designer. When I began a serious exploration of photography several years ago, I brought some of those skills with me. My first subjects were the natural landscapes of the Sierra Nevada and Northern California. I always felt my images where more interesting with a human element, a hiker in a mountain landscape provides a sense of scale and a way for the viewer to imagine themselves in the scene. I then began to see my own city of San Francisco as a source of beautiful landscapes and human activity.
My work is a observation of people, places and discovery.
